Default 'The Nutty Professor' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'The Nutty Professor' is up, and while he was pleasantly surprised by the superior video transfer on this catalog title, ultimately he concludes that Universal's unusual decision to drop all of the supplementary materials included on previous standard-def editions make this HD DVD a release a tough sell.

I enjoy this movie and the PQ does look great. I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't for "April 15th" to be honest.

Good review, Peter. However, you make a mistake in regards to the supplemental material on the original DVD. The DVD editions of the original The Nutty Professor are bare bones DVDs. The sequel, The Klumps, is loaded with special features and there was even an additional cut of the film released on DVD with more special features.

I always liked this movie but I can't believe they really used a single layer HD-15. Have there been any other HD DVD's squeezed onto one of these before?

I thought HD-30's were dirt cheap, why is Universal regressing?

Alas that was my biggest compliant with the title as well. The lack of features makes it a hard sell.

tried this on a 120" FP screen. found it a bit underwhelming. colors are pretty, but detail is hardly great, just average. 4/5 for PQ - no way. 2.5 or 3 PQ for me. but reviewer is only watching on a 70" display, so maybe that's why this title stands up better for him.

Browsing at Best Buy and found this for $19.99 CAN (sticker), I thought it would get corrected but went thru...it's loading up right now. LOL

The movie is alright, just not worth the $34.99 CAN price.
