Hey Brandon,
All I can say is s-w-e-e-t !!! That's a great looking T2 collection. Of course my fav is the one on the extreme left. I read your comments on it in the other thread and wanted to reply just been real busy lately.

The T2 on the extreme right looks like my dvd version ... the only thing different is there's a metal ("slip-type) cover over the standard dvd case which I've never seen before on any other regular dvd's. I was thinking it might be what they now call "steelbook" maybe. I've wanted to find out for awhile but didn't know where or who to ask. Been considering selling it since I have the HD-DVD import (along with the blu-ray awful transfer) but I wanted to be accurate in describing it.

If you or anyone else visiting your thread here knows, I would really appreciate any comments. I also can take a photo of it if that would help.

Again, I'm glad you got the Steelbook T2 HD-DVD and happy to like it as much as I do.

Later,
Frank

My copy of the Ultimate Edition sdvd came with a silver/steel colored slip case made of cardboard-paper type material, i think the first copies that were released had actual metal slip covers, like my Extreme Edition sdvd has. I don't have Bluray (yet), but I own the U.K. hd dvd and keep holding back on the steelbook German version. Would have gotten the French one, but don't like the forced subtitle thing.

The french one is a 2 disc set and the forced subtitles are only on disc 2 (the theatrical version). You can also shrink them down to sit in the black bar.

That T2 laserdisc used to be the demo material of choice for most a/v specialty stores back in the day.

Man do i miss the LD good ol' days.

Here is my T-2 collection. I used to own the VHS version. My old roomate and I used to have Saturday night movie nights and T-2 was usually one of two movies we played.

Hi Frogmeat and thanks for your response. Yep my SD DVD of T2 has the clip like yours but mine is definately solid metal (silver in color) It has a slight vertical opening on the back (why I don't know) and always wondered why it came like that. I think I bought it immediately when it became available ... I have always been that way.

As for the German T2 Ultimate Steelbook I cannot recommend it any higher than I and others have already said. Mark my words, when Xploited runs out, there won't be any left (at least not in any retail stores). I would imagine that Collector's that have the money have bought as many copies as they could for later sales as they could very easily make triple or more off the price they paid.

On eBay I've seen TAKING LIVES go for over $300 and I understand the seller only has once copy left that he won't put up for a couple of weeks. That title was NEVER released anywhere. The Jack Ryan Paramount collection which wasn't officially released is selling from $400+ when you can find them on eBay. So it seems HD-DVD titles that have been very rare from the start keep going up and up.

So, back to the T2 metal clip I guess that would be what it is called as a "steelbook" is actually the case itself made of metal.

If I have something wrong, just give it a shout.

Thanks again.

Yes, mine is metal Mine is a double sided disc. A buddy of mine has the same edition and upc but it has 2 disc. I think I purchased mine soon after it was released. I think they changed to 2 disc a little later on. The metal cover slides over the case on the right.
