Does anyone know of any other HD DVD forums. I know about the following...
TBS
AVS

I know there are some bargain threads at...

I'm a member of TBS, but I don't understand the format of the group page and rarely pay attention to it because of that. I don't know why anybody would start a group around a mail list rather than a message board nowadays. They could have at least gone with Google Groups.

I'm sure somebody will start an HD DVD-dedicated community sometime soon.

I wish I had the means to start one. I used to love this site and had nothing but praise for it. I'm not sure how much longer they are going to focus on a dead format. Its looks like the HD DVD mainpage is turning into a video game page. I don't know if thats a hint or what.

The site's dwindling emphasis on HD DVD doesn't surprise me.

But what worries me is that I can see a time when they'll decide to combine all of the HD DVD forums into one to make more forum space for other topics. That would probably push me away from here.

Lord knows HD DVD supporters can't venture anywhere else on this board without getting egged...

I hope that doesn't happen, I don't expect it will. Still a significant HD DVD userbase that is active to risk too many defections or alienating them.

I don't think it will happen, unless everybody stops posting or something. This forum is home to the most serious HD DVD fans, so while they may do some remodeling, they'll make sure there's a at least a few rooms for us to hang out in (particularly this one and the sub forums). Also there are those just getting involved with the format on a continual basis..

lol, that's true enough on this board, but I really don't have any problems at another mixed forum (well by now it's almost all pro-Blu) I post at. But then again I just stopped posting anything related to HD DVD, since I get little if any response.

really this site is the only real bastion of HD-DVDdom on the web that I can see. They need to keep it for historical purposes if for no other reason.
maybe we can get protection under the endangered species act.

In 2008, who'ld a thought we would still remember LaserDisc.
It's not as bad as 3do. One Bad Trip H.3DO THe company just vanished.

+1 TBS confuses the hell out of me too. I just visit for the occasional links and/or deal info.

Yeah, I don't care for the Yahoo Groups structure of just one running thread containing any and every thing. Supposedly Yahoo is coming out with new group software, hopefully that will allow multiple threads / topics. But if you go to the TBS home page, scroll down to where you see "Most Recent Messages". Click on "Group by Topic" and it will sort the message by the subject to which a reply was posted - makes it a little easier to sort through what's new.

There's HDDVDSupporters.com. I used to post there, haven't been there in a month or so - just checked and it still seems to be active, but not much new there.

i love hd-dvd, but my favorite forum is AVS and discussion there is waning. Too bad, but i like HDM too much to be bitter, and that is why i just bought the sammy bd5k. It is a great combo player, so now i have a back-up hd-dvd player.
