Default What titles are you on the hunt for still?

I'm still having a ball with HDDVD.

Lots of movies still to get: Top of my list...
1. Excaliber
2. Battlestar 1
3. ST remastered 1

In the last month it's been another 15 titles added to my collection, and at a great price = $103 (thank you Hastings)

Less than ten bucks a flick - I'm still loving HDDVD.

How about you?

Sadly my list is still pretty long

Jack Ryan Collection (just haven't found it for a price I am willing to pay)
A bunch of HDNet titles (I can't find a definitive list)
22 Domestic releases (mostly concert and Opera)
Anything from Russia
3 or 4 from Poland
About 10 from Italy
3 or 4 from Germany
2 from UK
About 50 from Japan (jeez will these either drop in price or can I win the lottery)
Anything else from anywhere else I don't have yet
Tons of Porn Titles (but not looking for these very hard if at all)

I have pretty much got everything now that I'd like to buy except Jack Ryan collection, Taking Lives and Freedom 7 (hopefully they release it). I may never get Jack Ryan or Taking Lives if they don't show up at a "reasonable price" somewhere one day as I don't want them bad enough to pay huge loads of money for them. If nothing new gets released I guess I've pretty much completed my HD DVD collection with the last one being the great "La Sconosciuta" from Italy, one of the very best imports for sure.

I'm enjoying the freedom from online shopping for a couple of weeks coinciding with my upcoming holiday, but I'm still recording from HDTV actively now. Also continuing buying some BDs after my holiday but very selectively, just the most interesting titles from anywhere in the world. Maybe I'll get to watch movies faster than I get new ones for a change

Same here, I still have plenty of work to do. I don't know how many from each country, but if I get about 100 more titles or so, I should be in pretty good shape.

You can scratch those discontinued Amazon HDNet titles off your list, as they are not HD DVDs, but rather DVD-r recorded in HD. The only HD DVD HDNet titles that I know of are from the HDNet website (7 of the 8 titles listed there, except for Bikini Destinations Lake Tahoe - which is also a DVD-r).

I'm pretty much done. There are a dozen or so left on my wish list but I don't buy anything that isn't cheap. Twister for example is still near list price everywhere. I want it but not for more than $10 or $12. There are a few other domestics like that, all Paramount or Warner titles, and then there are half a dozen imports I'll buy if they drop to the $20 range (The Island as one example, I missed out on The Hut's sale).

I'm now going to be on the hunt for concert titles with DTS HD MA. Anyone have a Jimi Hendrix: Live at Monteray they want to get rid of?

I have many releases I'll get if the price is right but the last titles I know I have to get before all is said and done is the Michael Clayton combo and the Forbidden Planet Ultimate Collector's Set. As for Jack Ryan, I'm curious to see if prices drop on them once they're released on Blu-Ray - if not, I'll just get the Blu versions I guess.

The Last Samurai, 1408, Enemy at the Gates, Band of Brothers (maybe).

I've pretty much bought all of the domestic releases that I want. But I'm not opposed to buying more in future sales.

I probably wont ever get 1408 or Enemy at the Gates because I don't feel like shelling out $70~ for two movies on any format.

Yeah I am not sure on the HDNet ones (I have Lake Tahoe) but several people list 3 or 4 of the Bikini Destinations ones that I don't have (are the DVD-R as well?) These are the ones that folks list as "having:

HDNet World Report: The Shuttle Returns to Service
HDNet World Report: Protests in America
HDNet: Smart Travels: Renaissance Europe
HDNet World Report: Israel: A Land Divided
HD Net WorldReport: Shuttle Discovery's Historic Mission
Bikini Destinations Wildside : Ft. Lauderdale
Bikini Destinations Buzios
Bikini Destinations Las Vegas
Bikini Destinations Puerto Viarta
Bikini Destinations Triple Fantasy

That I don't have. I have no idea if these are DVD-R discs or if they come in cases or what just I have seen the listing for them.. Any help would be appreciated for my quest for the completed set

Here's an Amazon review of someone who owns one of the Amazon HDNet HD DVD titles. I'm confident that they are all DVD-r media, so technically they can't be counted as HD DVDs. Marc Alexander from HDNet told me that Amazon printed up all those titles for them and sold them exclusively, so undoubtly they used the same DVD-r media on them all (since none are over 50 minutes in length, therefore a DL DVD-r is sufficient). Amazon lists 48 discontinued titles in all. However, it would be nice to get confirmation on some more titles (the same reviewer did confirm DVD-r on another title in another review), to make sure that there's no true HD DVD titles mixed in there.

BTW, where did you find the HD DVD demo discs that BB and CC used? (not the CES discs, which I see listed on Ebay).

I found them at BB and CC.. I basically went in and asked them for them I have 1 from CC, 2 from BB and 1 Samsung Blu-Ray demo disc. The crowning centerpiece for me was getting the "In a world..Go ahead take the red pill" on HD DVD (was a pack in for a very few Toshiba HD DVD laptops) that I bought from a guy on Ebay for $3 shipped

I have a contact at HDNEt maybe I need to call and see if he can provide me with any of the extra discs (or ISOs of them or something).. I don't mind paying for them I just don't want to pay $10 for a DVD-R

If you are interested, I'm getting in some new copies of Enemy at the Gates for $21.00 shipped to your house if you live in the US or Canada. I should have them in a few weeks.
