I don't know about others but breaking hd dvd cases is not uncommon for me.

If its not the locking clips, its the center piece used to hold down the hd disc. Luckily replacement cases are plenty and cheap.

Here's how you take a disc out without breaking anything:

1.) You take your index finger and press down on the center piece. (You don't have to press too hard.)
2.) You then take your thumb and middle finger and grasp the top right (with middle finger) and bottom left (with your thumb) of the disc, and pick it up.
3.) Now, pulling up with your thumb and middle finger, make sure that your index finger stays in the center so the disc's center catches on your index finger.

If you follow these three simple steps, you should always be able to get a disc out of the case without breaking anything and without smudging your disc.

Good luck.

i only have problems with the cases with the three prongs with the "push" lettering on the front....and only with the combo discs....i usually press down on the button slightly grip the edge and rotate till it pops out...except for combos they are like thicker than regular discs and they often with no allow for rotation...damn i love the elite style cases....too bad they dont always come in that style

The hub of my copy of Breach was cracked removing it from the case. And I'm careful. Thankfully it still plays fine.

The only thing I would add to this is - I do not place the case on a flat surface when doing this. I find holding the case in one hand while pressing and removing the disc with the other hand works better, as it permits the back of the case to flex a bit, thus releasing the disc from the center holder.
