My First Bad Disc (I Am Legend Combo)

I ended up picking up I Am Legend. Just rounding out my collection with a few titles. Anyway I got this movie and the damn think does nothing but skip (both the HD and DVD side). I washed the movie with soap and water, that didnt work. I removed everything in my persistent storage and that didnt work either.

I feel pretty lucky though Im sitting on about 100+ HD DVD movies in my personal collection and this is the only time this has happened to me.

Anyway cant think of anything else to try (maybe boiling my disc, Ive heard) so I guess its time for an RMA. Boooo.

I got my first bad disc about 2 weeks ago (One Last Thing) from Amazon and luckily they got more stock in as I bought the last copy they had...New copy works fine. Never had an issue with a Combo and I own a few of them

if you can't get a replacement from the place you got it from, warner WILL replace it. i'll PM you with a WHV contact that will help you.

i had the same problem. I called DeepDiscount (where I bought it), they had no problem, issued me an RA# and emailed me a label to print and mail it back. They said once they received it, they would ship me out a new copy. I'll update when my new copy arrived

Same thing here. They were super fast with the email label. Already got it packaged up and ready to go out on Monday. Bad part is once they get it and ship out my new one its going to take 10+ days to get it lol. So Im looking at 20 days turn around. I could be dead by then lol.

The only questionable disc I have is Girlgasmic. I have a sealed copy of I am Legend that I bought at Fry's. Maybe I should open it. (I need some action movies besides Transformers to complement my dramas and nature shows.)

Man I cant get enough nature shows. Im in the market for an LG BH200 (used) just so I can keep getting HD nature shows.

Good luck with that. They are still $400 on Fleabay. The Samsungs used to be cheaper until the May update. Now, they are even higher. God forbid if either one of them gets DTS-HD HR/MA.

I received an email from DD today saying they had shipped me another copy of I Am Legend. So it looks like it took a little over a week(8 days) for them to receive the damaged copy I sent back back and send me another... pretty decent.

I'll update again when it makes it all the way here

I've made it a habit to watch all of my Combo Discs immediately, as I've heard of skipping issues with them, but oddly the only disc I've ever had issue with is Into The Wild. The disc skipped at just under 2 hours left in the film, and then froze on a frame. Never finished it, and I guess I never will.

Read the book, so I know how it ends and all, but still...
