Default so check this out...

i ordered twister direct from warner brothers. i think i placed the order on the morning of the 23rd when it was still a pre-order. they charged my card then and so i assumed they shipped it same day so i'd get it a little after the 27th, its release date. NOPE. i got a shipping confirmation on the 30th stating that it had been sent on the 29th... it shipped via UPS ground so estimated arrival was today, 6/3. and it came today. in a huge box. with no packing inside. that's a 13x9x9 box with one hd dvd movie and the packing slip. no packing peanuts, no bubble wrap... no nothing. fortunately, there was nothing wrong with it. but wtf, whv?

it was the first time i've ever ordered direct from them. probably be the last time, too.

Oh man, I ordered from them before, and it too was the last time! It is a long story, but the bottom line is to stay away!

It seems I have heard nothing but these types of stories from people who have ordered direct from Warner with the most common being that they took FOREVER to ship out purchased items.

Seems almost surreal that they were the ones who dictated the fate of the HD DVD format.

I ordered a few movies from them back in the heyday of HD-DVD, and it was overall a terrible experience. I ordered Troy: DC and Alexander Revisited the day they were released. They confirmed my order, and then nothing. A few weeks went by and I got no shipment. So I shoot them an email asking what happened. No response. I sent THREE emails before I got a response, and the response was that neither title had shipped yet because they were on back order. So, I decided to cancel my order.

Well, after that was an adventure in itself! They STILL charged my card, and repeated calls/emails didn't get them to renig the charge. I had to get AMEX to fight for my money back.

So, then months later Troy: DC shows up from UPS. It had my order info on the included paper, from months ago. Absolutely ridiculous. Never again would I order from there, no matter how good the deal!

I've ordered many movies from them and had an overall good experience each time other than the huge boxes with 1 movie in them. Oddly though every time they shipped me something they sent it overnight when I bought enough for free shipping. The only bad part was some items I ordered did take a month or so to ship, but they did and I got them. I never got charged until something from the orders shipped or was about to ship either. My orders were all in October & November last year after everyone who ordered in August had hell because they switched their payment or shipping processor around.

I guess I got lucky. I got the Harry Potter gift set on HD. Price was good. Shipping was slow, but that was ok as I had a back log (and still do, damn hockey season!) of stuff to watch in the mean time. I was neither impressed or disappointed to be honest. But, I have heard more bad stories than good from them for sure.

Typical from Warner. Slow shipping, crappy website with horrible order tracking, and just bad phone support.... yeah I might save a few dollars but I think I'll just stick with Amazon thanks.

Unless they have an unbeatable deal, avoid WHV.com.

Even then, is it worth your time? I certainly won't be ordering from them, way too many horror stories.
