Default 'Ocean's Twelve' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'Ocean's Twelve' is up. The film was skewered by
critics, but he has come to it's defense, while still acknowledging some of the much discussed problems. This HD DVD will only cause further debate, with a problematic video transfer, suitable audio track, and decent collection of supplements that never sets the screen on fire. This is a rental.

I know.

Soon as the studio sends 'em, we'll review 'em! Thanks for bearing with us as the May drought comes to an end.

If only May's "drought" was being followed by a June flood . . .

Sorry, I meant the high-def title drought since there's a ton of new releases coming in June and July. I forgot this thread was attached to an HD DVD review so hopefully no one took this post as rubbing salt in the wound.

No wound to be salted here.

Yes, I see there are much more high-def releases coming in June & July. As always, I look forward to the reviews to evaluate choices whenever I go back to also owning .

I got the blu-ray of this primarily for the exclusive commentary track, as it's my favourite Oceans film. I did a side-by-side comparison of the DVD and the Blu-ray at 720p on a 7ft screen and the results are pleasing. Nothing wrong with this transfer, it now looks more like how it did when I saw the film in the cinema. You can make out the finely detailed film grain now and the increase in detail in every scene actually makes the DVD look very soft.
