Default 'Tchaikovsky: Swan Lake' - HIgh-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'Tchaikovsky: Swan Lake' has been posted. He says this title features a technically precise performance that fails to impress due to the short-sighted emotional performances of its three leads. The video on the HD DVD is marred by glitches and noise, the supplemental package is nearly non-existent, and the entire production feels weighed down by average production values. This one is for fans only.

This is really disappointing to hear & will defiantly keep me from grabbing a copy @ $30. Hopefully the price will drop to $20-ish...

I have had this title for a while, and have enjoyed it very much.
Luckily I don't know enough about operatic performance to notice any problems with the "leads." Considering the regular price on the blu is over $40 I think it's an ok deal. If it goes lower I would recommend it unconditionally.

Why is there a thread about an HD DVD review in the BLU-RAY section?

Also, why am I the first person to realize this!?

Jeez... what a late review. There are way better Opus Arte titles on HD DVD. This is the only one that doesn't have Dolby TrueHD.

No--there doesn't need to be a LFE channel with real instruments! Come on.

The Blu-Ray will have PCM plus a better AVC encode.

Die Fledermaus is much better. We HD DVD guys got to be guinea pigs.
