Default 'Jerk,' 'Nutty Professor' Go Non-Combo

In the latest indication of its apparent lessening support for the controversial HD DVD/DVD combo format, Universal Studios Home Entertainment has reconfigured the planned April combo releases of 'The Jerk' and 'The Nutty Professor' to be HD DVD-only.

I only support combo discs for family films such as happy feet. Other than that every movie should be $20. I f I really need the SD version to watch elsewhere I have the blockbuster total access to take care of that

The SKU may have changed, so make sure your order is still valid.

I didn't order from Amazon. I ordered from HDMovieSource.Com and it was still in my orders as of last night. But, I'll keep my eyes pealed.

This is great news. I don't mind buying the combos for day-and-date releases, but catalog titles should only be on HD. I also like that Universal seems to listen to their customers' preferences.

Yeah, actually this news is a repeat of perhaps less official version of the news, that Universal was going to release combos only on Day & Date releases.

eNoize I agree. Actually, I like the combo releases, but only on new releases. I like this because I can bring the disc over to either a friend's house or my parent's house and they can watch the movie as well.

Older films they either don't care about or I'm just buying for my personal preference so I don't want combo discs. Good job Universal!

Now,...get on with those Universal Monsters Classics on HD DVD!!!!

You're right in this case. I've got Netflix and same applies. I definitely wish all movies were just $20 right out of the gate. Hey, at least most are at Target, but recently that's changed as it has with Wal-Mart.
