Default "One Last Thing" - High-Def Digest Review

We just posted Peter's review of 'One Last Thing...'. Peter calls this one a true sleeper -- the kind of intelligent, passionate, minor-key movie that everyone complains doesn't get made. As an HD DVD release, he was also pleasantly surprised -- the transfer is impressive for a low-budget indie shot on HD, the audio is fine, and there are even couple of decent extras.

Why did the HD DVD get reviewed a year later?

Heya

I know -- this one fell through the cracks. I originally reviewed the Blu-ray a while ago, but at the time the HD DVD didn't seem to be available as Magnolia was routinely delaying the HD DVD versions to re-encode them in VC-1, etc.

Now, with HD DVD kaput, I wanted to go back and review any missing titles in our DB. Especially as there are such great deals to be had online.

Was this review appropriately timed with the irony in it's title or what? LOL

Hey, Peter.

The video resolution needs to be fixed to represent 1080i instead of 1080.
Good review though. Too bad the movie is so hard to find.

I rented this on DVD when it first come out ... From what I remember it was pretty good, I wouldn't mind picking it up on HD-DVD, especially since it seems to be better than the Blu-ray version. Definately is hard to find though ... nothing on eBay or any of the big sites. Only place I see it is tower.com, and they want $26 and 2-4 weeks shipping, so who knows....

Same here. I put an order in through DVD Pacific as they have it "On Order", but not sure if they can actually get it. That was my first order from them in any case, need to try them out. I ordered some sales titles at the same time (available titles to be shipped first).

Yeah, I went ahead and ordered it there also. I don't know if they can get it, but it's worth a shot. I preordered Bee Movie from them and they actually charged my card the day after release. They never responded to my email and I finally had to call them (30 minute hold time) to get my debit card credited back. Funny thing my order says "is being processed and will ship soon" but I don't believe it. Pending charge on my card as well so I hope they don't do the same thing as last time. We'll see...

Mine shipped from DVD Pacific about 2 days ago. I had it on Order there from the time I read this review.
