Now this one I will definitely get. I play 2 of the Concertos myself (the 2nd in C minor and 3rd in D minor) and would absolutely love to have this in my HD DVD collection. I trully hope that this does make it to actual release.

Any word on who the pianist is on this disc?

As much as I love Rachmaninov I'm tempted to wait for a BD release of this since my HD DVD player can't handle the full DTS-HD MA 7.1 track. I really don't want to drop over $200 for an A35 just for one disc.

I can't wait for the entire collection to come out in Blu Ray, especially since my PS3 is hooked up to my receiver via HDMI...

And I thought SACD was good enough...

Might be nice if the pianist was identified. A somewhat important detail

OK, I went to the Amazon site and got this, "featuring pianist Konstantin Scherbakov".

The Pianist hailed as "the modern day Rachmaninov" plays the Rach 2 and 3. The Rach 3 being considered by many to be the worlds toughest piano piece to play.

I can't wait to get this.

Did anyone order this from Amazon and had their order delayed? It was pretty close to release from the announcemt date so I didn't think it would be cancelled.

Absolutely right!! It would be nice if the marketeers would realize that opera fans really DO want to know WHO is singing the opera---- particularly before shelling out the over-price for it.

I am not sure about opera but this release and the Vivaldi one in February were both from the same Naxos related name. I never really had too good of an experience with Naxos on CD. But anyone who claims to be able to play the Rach 3 has got to be at a certain performance level.
