Default 'Ocean's 11/Ocean's 12' -- pre-release buzz

Ironic -- Warner is the last studio announcing HD DVD titles, and they are the ones who started the avalanche that resulted in the format's demise.

In any case, they've slotted stand-alone versions of 'Ocean's 11' and 'Ocean's 12' for May 20.

Specs and supplements are the same as the versions previously released in the 'Giftset.'

Retail is $28.98 a pop.

Cool, unfortunately I just got the boxset. Now, if they could just release a non-combo of Oceans 13 that would be great. How stupid is that? The boxset comes with individual cases for each movie and 11 and 12 are non-combos, while 13 is a combo.

A bit much considering the complete boxset is on Amazon for $37.

Yeah, seems really strange. Paramount is being stupid. Why NOT release on HD DVD for another month?

How much you guys want to bet that Warner continues to release on HD DVD past May now that the format is not a threat to Blu-ray. This is just insane, they must have released a schedule for a good 20 titles now. They killed HD DVD for the right reasons to get to one format, but they aren't giving up on the user base which is nice.

Lol. That's funny. Seems like most of you were waiting for single disc releases of all 3 movies as I was waiting for a European boxset.

The packages of Oceans 12 and Oceans 13 don't look bad but the US boxset looks more valuable (from the web pictures I've seen).

The article says that there are no special features to the Ocean's 12 disc apart from trailers. Well the box set with Ocean's 12 does have a lot more than that for special features (commentaries and deleted scenes). Why would they remove them for the individual release?

It is pretty dumb. Its the same thing with the Bourne series.

Its nice for the support.

Anyone know why these aren't listed on Amazon? I'm sure they haven't been canceled but why wouldn't Amazon stock them?

Yeah Amazon have taken them down for some reason, perhaps they thought sales would be low on them since the trilogy is already out over there?

DVDEmpire still has them for pre-order, but even if they can cancelled you can order them on their own from the UK as we got them last November.

The only reason I didn't buy the box set was because of 12. I loved 11 and liked 13 so I may just buy 11 and be done with it.
