Default 'Discovery Atlas: Australia' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'Discovery Atlas: Australia Revealed' on HD DVD is up, and it sounds like a videophile's delight. Boasting near-reference quality shot-on-HD video, Kenneth says this is one demo disc that should bring your friends to a standstill. Alas, the audio and supplements are generally unimpressive, but even if for video alone, this one still wins a recommend.

Your copy and paste is showing on the HD DVD review:
Quote:
The HD broadcast was already a top tier bragging point for The Discovery Channel in high definition, but on this Blu-ray release it's nothing short of a revelation.
That small nit aside, I liked the review! I was able to catch some of the show on DiscoveryHD, so I'm looking forward to the Netflix delivery.

I take it you did not experience any of the playback problems that some are reporting with this title?

For those who do not currenlty own the Discovery Atlas series, please note that the discs will NOT work on Toshiba A2 and will not work on the 360 add-on. It does work fine on my A1.

Amir has already indicated in a separate thread here that a fix is coming for the 360. Are you sure this does not work in the A2? Have you got the latest updates for the A2? Just asking.

Firmware is up to date and confirmed via AVS that the latest firmware doesn't fix the problem.

The fix Amir is referring to is upcoming, in his words "early to mid spring". Most of the fixes are already done, but they are preparing a fairly large update and it is still in the QA process.

The Discovery Atlas: China disc plays just fine on my 360, is the problem only with the Australia disc?

I've only tried one of the four discs in my 360. I think it was the OZ disc. I put the disc in and nothing happened. Gave up after a minute or so. The A2 gave a disc error.

Will check the other discs on the 360 tonight.

Thanks

I have received the disk, and in my HD-E1 I cannot reproduce it.
The message appears: cannot play the disc.
¿that solution is?
¿where this the problem?
sorry for my English,I am from Spain.

Best regards

I have upgraded the HD-E1 to the version 1.3 and the disc continues without working.
