Requiem For HD DVD
remembering a cold November night when I first heard the news
ONLY $500 to enjoy the 1080i glories of HD DVD.
my hd crt, though created by the enemy, awaited that sweet interlaced signal that would flow from the technical wonder
emblazoned with the moniker A2.
the anticipation growing as I await the opening of the tray.
sensing the slow minutes go by as it finally curls outward to accept
Charlie and his chocolate 1080p confections
an image unleashed of impeccable detail and contrast glows from inside the 30 inch Sony 420's heart.
all a memory now.
after Jack's studio finished thrusting its sharp cold blade into HD DVDs back. twisting and turning a jagged edge the life blood pouring out onto the sidewalk.
Et tu Warner?
a long dark journey's into night finally ends.
the somber cries of its long suffering supporters drowned out by
victorious shouts from 16 year old zit faced gamers and their precious black toy.
oh the injustice of it all!!
rest in peace at last HD DVD.
you were too good and for this world.

Yes, I always got a laugh seeing the Sony logo on my TV so close to the HD DVD logo on my player and thinking if Sony on knew how good HD DVD looks on their TVs . . . .
Yes, I haven't bought a Warner product since, and not sure if I ever will - I'm Netflixing Jesse James.Et tu Warner?
Ah, those fond memories of the Smackdown Forum . . . .victorious shouts from 16 year old zit faced gamers and their precious black toy.
