Everyone have a great pre-Halloween weekend? I took a respite from all the horror films lately to check out 'Nacho Libre' (though Jack Black in tights is pretty horrifying):
http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/nacholibre.html I dunno. Didn't really get the film, and the HD DVD is just okay -- fair transfer, soundtrack and extras. Unfortunately, my Blu-ray version was defective, so I have to wait for a new one from Paramount. So no comparison just yet...

Same here. Only the first two paragraphs would load for me. The film itself, IMO, looks horrible. Due to the fact that it was directed by the man who gave us Napoleon Dynamite (a film I HATED), I'm definitely veering away from this one.

Watched SD version of 'Nacho' over the weekend and it was mildly amusing with a few genuine laughs but I can't see owning it on HD-DVD...more of a rental than a purchase. It seemed that Jack Black's Spanish accent in the film was derived from watching Antonio Banderas in Zorro one too many times.

Sometimes you wear strechy pants...it's for fun.
I have not seen the film yet. I think I would have to rent it instead of buying it sight unseen. I usually love Jack Black films, but I hate wrestling.

Does anyone have a clue why Amazon.com hasn't posted a link to either the Blu-ray or HD-DVD versions of 'Nacho Libre' on their site?

I totally 'got' this movie. It is a work of comedic art.
No need to own the HD version however. Jack |
