'King of California' – High-Def Digest Review

Just posted Peter's review of 'King of California.' He enjoyed the film, finding it to be a refreshing comedy, with good performances by Michael Douglas and Evan Rachel Wood. Fans of small, overlooked films will also enjoy the solid audio and video, as well as the excellent commentary track on this HD DVD release.

Picked up King of California today! Fry's had it on sale for $19.95. Both the Blu and Red versions. Naturally, I chose the HD DVD!!

Just got done watching this movie and must say I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Going to have to add this to my buy list.

I just watched it today. I picked it up at Best buy along with 6 movies on the BOGO sale last week. Both my son and I thought it was a very entertaining movie. Two thumbs up for sure.

Just watched this last night. Really didn't think I was going to like it too much, but I ended up loving it. I really liked the comedy in this movie too, it wasn't the usual "one liner" jokes, but more of the "funny situation" kind of jokes.

I could also kind of relate to Miranda in a lot of ways, lol. My mom isn't that crazy, but there were several parts that really reminded me of arguements we've had (especially the one where she is chewing him out and it's like he just doesn't even get it at all).

I also thought Michael Douglas played the role very well too, I didn't even realize that was him on the cover when I'd seen the review posted, about a minute or two into the movie I thought it was him and was sure a few seconds later. I'll definitely be picking this one up.

Although I did like this movie, I can certainly say I don't think everyone would like this movie. As "HKMOVIESAREBEST" said, if your on the fence about this one, I'd recommend renting it, you might love it.

Picked this up from Hollywood video in their big $5 HD DVD sale brand new never rented. I thought the movie was great, the transfer was great and the price was well great
