Peter's review of 'The Getaway' (1972) is up. This second Steve McQueen title to hit next-gen disc gets another recommend and a four satr video rating, but Peter was ultimately disappointed by both the audio and the supplements package.

Having just watched this, I'm still trying to work out how a totally wooden performance from McGraw (this woman cannot act. Period.) can be interpreted as "smouldering on-screen chemistry".
I'd agree that the transfer is excellent (although the first five-ten minutes have far too many white specks - surely they could have sorted this out?!), but this is a really dated, badly paced mess of a film. It's clunkier than a clunky thing from the planet VeryClunkyIndeed. I do hope "Bullitt" turns out to be better than this.
