Universal's May HD DVD Wave One Catalog Titles Revealed
February 27, 2007
Universal Studios Home Entertainment continues to dole out new HD DVD announcements at a fast clip with this morning's news that 'The Hurricane,' 'The Skeleton Key' and 'Smokey and the Bandit' will all be released on HD DVD exclusive discs on May 22.

All three films will be presented in 1080p video and Dolby Digital 5.1 Plus audio. Extra features are assumed to be identical to those found on the standard DVD versions but have yet to be confirmed. We'll pass those and high resolution cover art along as soon as they're available.

'The Hurricane,' 'The Skeleton Key' and 'Smokey and the Bandit' will all carry an SRP of $29.98.

Donnie Brasco just got announced for blu-ray which sucks for HD-DVD right now I would love to own that on HD hopefully soon.

No need to let everyone know which title I'm most excited about.

"The Skeleton Key" was among the better horror movie (with a twist) that has come out in the last couple of years. Will definitely get that and "Smokey and the Bandit". I don't know enough about the Hurricane yet to know if I will get that too.

Thanks for the heads up so I can start planning my funds. If you havent seen the Hurricane you should it is excellent. I cant afford to update everything I already bought though so doubt I will get it. I have no interest in the Skeleton Key but I never did buy Smokey and the Bandit so will definately purchase that one.

I enjoyed The Hurricane. It's a underrated story and Denzel Washington is as always great in the role.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0174856/ good rating here as well.
