'Freedom: 5' -- pre-release buzz

Bandai Visual has announced their latest in the 'Freedom' anime series:

Specs are consistent with the previous releases: 1080p/VC-1 video, Japanese Dolby Digital 5.1 and PCM 2.0 stereo tracks, and extras including a trailer and web-enabled previews for other 'Freedom' titles.

Street date is April 22, and retail price $39.99.

I got Freedom 2 for $5 on eBay. They were giving them away at CES for free so they're not selling for much. Now I just need to find Freedom 1 for a decent price.

I had the same problem. I ended up ordering it from rightstuf.com because I know they're reliable. I also ordered enough to get free shipping. It seems that for some reason none of the larger e-tailors have Freedom 3 in stock. I read somewhere that it was limited to 1000 copies but I have no idea how reliable that info is. Used copies for the previous releases seem to be hit or miss for either really good / really bad deals on Amazon and eBay, so I decided to bite the bullet for $35 new. I figure I'll avoid the hassle of people selling it for $80 and I'm sure to have a copy to complete the series.

What a joke the pricing and release mechanism. I'll wait for a box set.

I'm also somewhat perplexed why in a Country that is 96:4 blu ray to HD DVD is releasing them as HDDVD (the Japanese releases are HDDVD also). Bandai are just utterly bizarre with their HD releases. Most of their movies are blu ray, some are blu and HDDVD (eg, Patlabor), and Freedom I think is the only HD exclusive. It is just bizarre.
