Default 'Alpha Dog' -- pre-release buzz/Universal goes Dolby TrueHD

Universal has just announced 'Alpha Dog'

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...HD_Support/488

Specs look good, but the best news is that the info we received lists a Dolby TrueHD track -- only the studio's third. 'Bout time!

It can be played as lossy if it goes through the optical. However, I believe if you use the analog outs it will be fine.

This movie reminds me of a movie called "Chumscrubber"-is this some kind of remake, because it seems very similiar with a few tweaks here and there. I think that was the name of the movie anyway. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hopefully, Universal commits to TrueHD going forward, that would be awesome...it's all that they are lacking in my opinion.

The movie is not that good - but not that bad either. Bit it is really funny to see Justin up on the screen, he is not that bad a actor.

This movie was okay no way I'm gonna spend 35$ on a Combo for this. Maybe I should start buying movies from Amazon.

Do amazon or price match BB with Target (b/c amazon provides hd dvds for target.com). Either way you get the low price.

Alpha Dog was based on a true story of Jesse James Hollywood, I don't believe Chumscrubber was.

I loved the movie, I am definitely picking it up.

Ouch, you were buying HD DVDs for $35...?

Do the buy 3, and get 10% off for the whole year thing at Amazon. Probably the best deal there is. You can't beat 10% off all year, no tax, and free shipping.

The bigger news is that Universal is starting to go with TrueHD tracks. Universal is probably going to start double dipping some titles soon

Extended Edition King Kong w/ TrueHD
Seabiscuit w/ TrueHD
