Default 'Evening' - High-Def Digest review

Just posted Peter's review of 'Evening.' He says this HD DVD release is fair at best, with average video and audio and a ho-hum supplemental package. As for the film itself: oof!

This movie was very boring and wouldve gave it a Skip It for the bottom line.

I agree it was not a good film considering all the talent involved. It felt like a big chunk was missing because it did not lead up to any kind of impact. Redgrave was excellent and I like the mother/daughter casting of Streep (and Daughter) Redgrave (and Daughter). I don't think I would have rated it as low as Peter, but I could understand his frustration with the film.

This was my greatest disappointment of the year because it was my most highly anticipated movie of the year. After Home at the End of the World and this, Michael Cunningham should stick to writing brilliant books instead of dreadful screenplays.
