Default 'Pan's Labyrinth' - High-Def Digest review

Just posted Kenneth's review of 'Pan's Labyrinth,' the very first New Line title to hit HD DVD here in the US.

Kenneth is a fan of the film itself, and says this HD DVD edition is quite strong, featuring a striking transfer, a jaw-dropping DTS HD MA audio track, and a wealth of supplemental content (including a couple HD DVD-only web-enabled features).

Full review here:

I liked the movie just can't stand the fact I have to read the whole thing. So I'm gonna skip it. That's the reason I'm not keeping Black Book. The movie is good transfer was good but you have to read, If I wanted to read it I would get the book. wish they would put it out with English

Great review! I was hoping for 5 stars for the movie itself and PQ/AQ but this is close enough.
Love the Spanish language track...

I'm always so confused by the ratings. Shouldn't this be a 5-star over-all? The score adds up to 4.875.

Wow, you gotta be kidding me. This is totally a great insult to the actors if you think dubbing their voices on a terrific movie. This movie is one of the easiest movie to read and after a few viewing, you don't even need to turn on the subtitle any more to understand the movie.

This is not a Jackie Chan or an old school kung fu movies where bad dubbing is part of what make the movies a classic.

The only complain I have with subtitles is that its overlap onto the movie screen. I just wish they would place them subtitles outside the movie screen at the bottom in the black bar.

Anyhoo, nice review and I will be picking this up today or tomorrow. Great price at $26!! 5 Stars for the movie for me.

All I can say is that this movie is a masterpiece and if one foregoes it because of the unwillingness to read the subtitles (which are not at all distracting), then you are depriving yourself of one the greatest movies made in the last decade.

Agree wholeheartedly Blurry. but really some people on here will never get it. (not directing this at anyone in particular)
I mean foreign movies are just not some people's cup of tea, but I really think as you grow older it's easier to get into different types of movies. I know I didn't know anything about world cinema in my 20's and now I'm kind of obsessed with seeing all these foreign "classics" that have been made over the years. So there's always hope.

Don't even go there. They probably don't know that people speak other languages besides English.
