Default 'Potter Giftset' - High-Def Digest review

Just posted Peter's review of the 'Harry Potter Years 1-5' giftset, and it's another whopper. Packaging together the same great video and audio from the standalone releases in a Harry-themed suitcase chock full of collectibles, this limited edition boxset would seem to be a high-def enabled Potter fan's dream come true.

Of the five films in the set, only one includes any exclusive content for early adopters -- 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.'

Thanks for the extra review...event hough it had no High Def extras that the others didnt already have.
But yea,, I ppicked this up from the Warner store for 84.95. Well Worth it! I blind bought HP5 when it came with the set,, and now its my favorite!
So now my most favorite is:

I know the standalone Order of the Phoenix HD-DVD is a combo disc, but is the gift set version also a combo disc?

I just ordered this through Amazon using Prime + Sat delivery.

I have bought more HD DVDs this week (in a 24 hour time period no less) than I have ever, for any format, before. All xmas gifts too. Not a single disc for me lol

Bourne Ultimatium x3
Evan Almighty
Harry Potter OotP
Harry Potter Box Set
Shrek the Third

Just got mine yesterday for Christmas! Great set, I particularly liked the bookmarks, they are to heavy to actually be used, but they are really cool!

Just a note:

I believe the TrueHD tracks on the HD DVD's for both The Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets are actually encoded at 96kHz, not the standard 48kHz. The rest appear to be 48kHz. I found this out by bitstreaming the TrueHD track from my A35 to my Onkyo 605. I got no sound when I did this because (according to the instruction manual) the receiver doesn't recognize a 5.1 (or greater) TrueHD signal with a sampling frequency greater than 92kHz. I switched the A35 over to internally decoding the TrueHD to be output as linear PCM, and the receiver displayed a 96kHz sampling frequency.

I have no idea why this is so and the other discs aren't encoded this way, nor can I speak to whether or not this is the case for the Blu-ray PCM tracks. I also don't really know if the higher sampling frequency results in audibly better sound quality, but I suppose in theory it should.

Nope, the discs inside come in individal digipack cases (of variable size, for some reason).
