Default 'Naked Beneath the Water' -- pre-release buzz

Indie Phoenix Entertainment has announced the horror flick 'Naked Beneath the Water' on February 5, 2008:

http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/naked...hthewater.html

Specs include 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video, and extras including only deleted scenes.

There is no word on audio yet, but the distributor tells us it will be some form of 5.1.

Retail is $24.95.

(BTW, for you diehard HD DVD loyalists, the company's rep told us they are not doing Blu-ray because they consider it "the Betamax of the future!")

Great list price. This should be really cheap on amazon. I think i'll be picking it up.

I'll hit this and The Lawless. It's a great thing to support independent film companies.

And it's $13.95 on Amazon, so that's an extra incentive.

It's great that small companies like this are supporting HD DVD. I will probably pick up to help sales and maybe convince other distributers to do the same.

Noticed first quarter is filling up with many indie releases, nice to have more variety .

Sounds like this company will be eating crow for a long time with misguided opinions like that. Think of how many copies of this garbage they would sell on Blu? (probably twice as many, hmm, seems like a marketing strategy they better avoid...or maybe they got $150 million too?)
go away troll

From what I could tell from the trailer, this movie will not be worth purchasing.

Seems like a decent horror flick actually (and God knows HDDVD needs more horror), judging from IMDB comments. At that price i will probably find room for it in one of my future amazon orders.

Same here, I'll show my support. Just going to pre-order it now. And interesting on the betamax comment.

Yep... renter at best.

I have seen a TON of these low-budget affairs and they are always terrible. A friend of mine is a movie reviewer, so we watch tons and tons of movies and many of them are these low-budget things. The problem with these movies is that the acting is always bad, the dialog is poorly written, the sets usually look like an apartment or some such (realistic, sure... but movies aren't realistic) and the VERY worst part of these things is that they ALL look like they were filmed with a hand-held video camera. Sure, this was shot with an HD video camera, but it still doesn't look anything like a movie should look... more like a television soap opera or something. I can't stand the look of these movies.

The bonus on these movies is that they will often include a lot of nudity to try to make up for the fact that the movie sucks... the problem with the bonus nudity is that they usually can't get the really attractive women for the nude shots most of the time.
