That Rambo cover would put me off buying it if I where a Silvestre Stalone kinda guy (but I'm not).
That U571 is real nice. Good work. I will say though, am not sure about the 'U571' and the HD DVD logo being the same font texture/color.
But what the hell do I know, I've never even seen it.

I use www.brandsoftheworld.com

The site gives you .EPS or .AI files, almost every time.
If you don't use Corel DRAW, then watch out for files with CDR, you won't be able to use them.

Like here's the DTS-HD logo, http://brandsoftheworld.com/search/?...rand_id=176096
That one download has loads and loads of DTS-HD logos. (.AI File)

HD DVD ROM Logo http://brandsoftheworld.com/search/?...rand_id=129607 (.EPS File)

And here's Dolby. http://brandsoftheworld.com/search/?...rch&text=Dolby (.AI File)
It there are some links, just below, that show TrueHD and such. The ones you want are the .AI files of these, there are CDRs that could deceive you.

I just got finished submitting a photography book to CreateSpace and was checking out thier HD DVD section and ran across some full templates that they have already made up for HD DVD cases. I remember some people had been asking about templates and If anyone was looking for a nice layered HD DVD template then here you go. Its in .psd (Photoshop) format. They have a full cover and disc template available.

Here is the page where they are made available

http://www.createspace.com/Help/HDDVD/Artwork.jsp

or here is the direct downloads.

Download Full-Wrap Cover Template
333KB Adobe Photoshop (Compressed ZIP Archive)
http://www.createspace.com/Special/H...erTemplate.zip

Download Disc Face Template
374KB Adobe Photoshop (Compressed ZIP Archive)
http://www.createspace.com/Special/H...ceTemplate.zip

I also see some people have been requesting where to find some logo's. I will dig up the site I get them from and post it up later on. They have every possible logo imaginable including all of the movie studios, dolby, HD DVD, Blu Ray Etc...

cool templates, however real graphic designers going into the field should use either indesign or quark.

I dont know a single designer that doesn't use Photoshop as one of their Primary tools on the computer. In earlier versions of Photoshop it didn't do alot of the things that graphic designers required however the newer versions of PS have incorporated a lot of them. For something as simple as designing a DVD cover there is absolutely no need to use something like Quark especially when you do have access to nice templates.

Its all about what your used to and what your most comfortable working with and if your used to Quark then thats what you should use however with that being said, out of all of the custom cover sites that I visit and I visit the most popular sites on the net, I dont know of a single designer on those sites that doesn't use photoshop as the primary tool in making their covers.

Lets face it, if someone was an experienced graphic designer then they most likely wouldn't be asking around for templates as they would know how to make their own. The people that are asking for templates are most likely people that have very little experience with designing or using designing programs but find the idea of making custom covers interesting and would like to give it a try and for those people these kinds of templates are perfect and will really help them figure the whole process out.

I only use Photoshop 7, and I've been using it for... five or so years now? I may get CS3 for my Mac, sometime.

I only use Quark when I really need to (and that's only at work, where I put together a magazine).

After you've learned so much on programs like PS7, there's hardly any need to use any outside program to help you. I don't use any outside tools. All you need are guides, dimensions, and what you have in front of you.

I've been in the field for 2 years now, and my employer loves the work I do.

um not really. those are layout programs. any visual/graphic work is done using photoshop/illustrator. we do use indesign for sure, but only to assemble what we have made in other programs for the most part

the templates are cool for people who do not know how to make their own.

that is what i was saying, i didnt use the temps, but i applaud you that people made them for others to use. Im too lazy to post them so, its awesome that you took your time to do what i wouldnt do.
