Default 'No Reservations' -- pre-release buzz

Warner has announced another day-and-date release:

http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/noreservations.html

This one is another HD DVD/DVD combo, but it is not a very extensive package, with only two excerpts from the Food Network featuring the stars of the flick.

Tech specs are 1080p/VC-1 video, and Dolby Digital 5.1. audio -- no TrueHD or PCM on this one.

Street date is February 12, 2008, and retail $39.98 (versus $34.98 for the Blu-ray.

And Warner was showing such promise with the reduced price on the Combo DVDs, but then they go and release a mediocre release like this at the $40 price tag.

Stop charging us MORE for combo discs!!!
Isn't it supposed to be cheaper to produce an HD DVD than a BD?
And DVDs must cost next to nohting to produce by now...
I would think that at most it costs the same to make a BD as a combo disc. So why can't the studios stop gouging us for an extra $5!

The MSRP is wrong, from what I read Warner is charging $35.99 for both Blu-ray and HD DVD on all high def day and date releases for now on beginning with Ocean's Thirteen. Even their ad in this week's Home Media Magazine confirms The Invasion with that MSRP.
