Default 'Carlito's Way' - High-Def Digest review

Just posted Joshua Zyber's very first disc review for High-Def Digest. For those who don't already know, Josh has a long history reviewing discs, most recently at DVD Talk and before that at DVDFile (alongside our own Peter Bracke). It's my pleasure to welcome him to the reviewing ranks here at HDD.

Josh kicks things off with a bang, giving Universal's HD DVD release of 'Carlito's Way' matching four-star scores for both video and audio. Though he's less wowed by the supplements, overall he says this one's still highly recommended.

As I was reading the review something seemed off from the way they are usually done (style of writing)...then after reading it I realized that Josh wrote it...that being said keep up the good work and looking forward to more!

Nice review. I'm glad the formatting is a bit tidier.

Hopefully Peter and Kenneth take up the better way of doing the extra features.
A bit of bold and a small indent goes a long way. Wall-O-Text is difficult to skim over. I found I had to re-read the entire extra features section for Hot Fuzz several times when looking for something. You only have to look at the Spider-Man trilogy review's supplements section to see some work needs to be done in this area.

Same here. Great review Josh. I liked the short, straight to the point, final thoughts section of your review. Sometimes...short and to the point is better. I appericate greatly Peters reviews for the finer details that I would not normally consider. But...I also apperciate the bottom line coming sooner than later.

Doesn't that go without saying?

Each reviewer has their own individual writing style. I prefer to use bullet points for the supplements section, mostly because I'm obsessed with lists and keeping things organized. But that's not a site requirement or necessarily a sign that other reviewers will be using that formatting in the future.

My SD edition of the film looks great on my TV....though I love the movie enough to invest in the HD version. Anyone else taken aback by the quality of the SD disk?
