Default 'Sunrise Earth' -- pre-release buzz

Discovery Channel has announced their latest HD DVD set, a compilation of its popular show 'Sunrise Earth: American Sunrise':

    http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/sunri...ansunrise.html

It drops exclusively at the Discovery Channel online store December 4. It contains twelve "sunrises," or episodes, plus a bonus episode.

    No tech specs yet.

Retail is $59.95, and Discovery is also releasing it same day on Blu-ray.

Compass Light, a small production company in Camden, Maine, started producing the series in 2004. Over 59 one-hour Sunrise Earth shows have been created in the first four years of production. The crew shoots with High Definition video cameras and the editors cut between multiple perspectives at a leisurely pace. The show is presented in real-time, with each shot lasting an average of 30 seconds. Each episode captures one morning from one location. The effect is to simulate what you would generally see and hear if you were at the shooting location. Captions in the lower third of the screen occasionally give information as to the location and events being viewed.
    1. Moose in the Morning
    2. Yellowstone Geysers
    3. Gator Hole
    4. Bison Before Breakfast
    5. Sea of Terns
    6. Vermont Balloons
    7. Alewive Eternal Return
    8. Tropical Palms
    9. Swallow Sea Cave
    10. Yosemite Dawn
    11. Cribworks Kayak
    12. Sequoia Light
Huh, I'll have to check that out. Hopefully it will be selling for less than $60.

I really enjoyed the Angkor Wat sunrise, I've been there and they captured it exactly as though you were there.

This news just made my day!

I have been asking Discovery Channel to release this series on HD DVD for over a year!

    Sweet.

    www.hddvdformat.blogspot.com

    You got it.

Either buy it from the website to get it in December or wait until April where you can pick it up elsewhere.
