Default 'Evan Almighty' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'Evan Almighty' is up. You can probably guess what he thought of the film itself. As an HD DVD release, he says this one's solid but unremarkable. Unusually, he says the HD DVD exclusives on this disc are probably its strongest asset -- at least they push the envelope from a technical perspective.

I think some scenes are demo worthy, the ark/water scene was amazing imo.

Wow. Only half a star more than Robocop which is 20 years old.

This did look better than robocop.. i think the pq deserved 4 stars though..some of the scenes, mainly the animals ark scenes, are demo material right there

This movie definitely deserves a much higher PQ score than what it was given here...I really don't get it...

Perhaps he accidentally reviewed the DVD side? That'd be more accurate.

Folks put off bt the review on this site should rent it first but I thought this transfer looks awesome!

I'd rate it more like 4.5 out of 5, those Ark scenes were just awesome. The last scene in the hills is just breathtaking.

Good movie as well, my wife and kids (6 and 8) really enjoyed it.

Anyone who bases their purchase from the review scores of this site needs their head examined.

I rented the HD DVD from one of the 250 Blockbusters that have HD DVD. I'm glad I rented it. It's funny but not as funny as Bruce Almighty. I definitely like that one better. It did in parts look better than Robocop I watched that one Wendsday and this one last night Thursday. I dont think I will pick this one up though. Maybe eventually when the SD DVD is a little cheaper.
Mischa.
