Default 'Pan's Labyrinth' -- pre-release buzz

New Line has finally confirmed 'Pan's Labyrinth' for HD DVD release on December 26:

http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/panslabyrinth.html

The release looks absolutely packed with extras, all retained from the two-disc DVD. There will also be a picture-in-picture commentary exclusive to the high-def versions.

Specs include 1080p video and DTS-HD 7.1 Surround mix, which should be fantastic to hear.

Retail is $35.99.

Yeah, me too - but I was hoping that it might get announced here in the US. This is an absolute must have title.

Shit. I bought the SD version but never watched it. They gotta start doing "day-and-date" releases soon...

Had a feeling it was coming. It was weird to see an HD trailer all of a sudden be put up on Xbox Live when no other New Line trailer or movie in that matter is offered in HD.

Guess this answers the question on if New Line was supporting HD DVD, or if they were going to flake on us and only support BD.

At the price New Line's charging, I'd rather order the UK version. It has all of the same extras, except the online stuff and video comentary, but the cover art is so much better looking.

Purposely have not watched this yet, in anticipation for this announcement. Only thing that sucks is day after Christmas, slow mail and the last place you want to be is in a Best Buy store.

Same here, I'm glad they finally announced an American release and before 2008 which is really nice.
