Default 'Timecop' -- pre-release buzz

The confirm has come in from Universal that 'Timecop' will be their last HD DVD catalog release for 2007.

http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/timecop.html

Not that exciting, though -- only a HD-15 with 1080p/VC-1 video and Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 Surround audio (1.5mbps).

Extras include a trailer only.

Retail is $29.98, and street date December 26.

Looks like the BDA can pack up and go home. Van Damme has arrived. haha.

It's a good movie, but I wonder if it will look any good (comparatively).

Universal has Eastern Promises and The Kingdom still to come in December. It looks like they are focusing more on Day/Date titles like Bourne, Eastern, Mr Bean's Holiday, Balls of Fury, Kingdom, Battlestar Galactica-Razor than catalog titles for the last month 1/2 of 2007. They have released SO MANY catalog titles in 2007 and I am sure 2008 will bring tons more. I really wanted Love Actually but I can only hope for 2008 for that one.

We've also set up a dedicated thread for Universal's final high-def catalog release of 2008 in our Forums area -- click the following link to discuss the 'Timecop' HD DVD release.
I really hope this is NOT Universal's last catalog title for 2008 as the article suggests.

It'll still sell well. Based on pictures of some folk's HD DVD collections over at AVS, people will buy any old sh*t to bolster their collection.
