Weinstein HD DVDs in Canada?

Can anyone confirm to me whether or not the Weinstein discs are availible in Canada yet? I've searched everywhere for The Matador, yet I can't find it at any retailer, or any Canadian online shop. Has any other Canadians gotten their hold on any of the discs yet?

I'd hate to have to order Matador, Slevin and Clerks 2 from amazon.com, since I always seem to get huge taxes when the stuff gets delivered.

I've had to order them from amazon.com because they weren't being sold here in Toronto. I got Wolf Creek, The Matador, and Clerks 2 is on the way. They were only 20$US.

I got the Matador at Startstruck Entertainment in Sherway Gardens in Toronto, ON. It was 32.99 I think, so I'm assuming they paid US for it and that's the price+markup. I'm planning on Amazon.com'ing clerks and Sleven now.

Victoria resident, right here! And yes, it's a shame we can't find the Weinstein discs here. Oh well, I'll just have to order them. With Apollo 13 and Riddick that I picked up today, the wait won't be unbearable, haha.

Bumping a bit of an old topic, but I've got more news...

Preorders for Weinstein discs are starting to appear on futureshop.ca and amazon.ca. So far I've The Matador, Scary Movie 4, Lucky Number Slevin, Derailed and Wolf Creek listed. Here's a rundown of release dates and prices on Amazon:

Lucky Number Slevin: March 27th, $27.27 (CDN)
Scary Movie 4: Feb 27th, $27.27
The Matador: Feb 27th, $27.27
Wolf Creek: Feb 27th, $27.27
Derailed: Feb 27th, $27.27

No luck finding preorders for Wolf Creek or Clerks II yet... 27.27 Canadian seems a lot more attractive than the cost of importing these, even just from the US. The picture of Slevin, which is the only one listed with a picture so far, has the American cover on it (With the "#" sign instead of "Number"), I wonder if it'll be changed, along with the Matador and Derailed covers, to look like our covers? (Anyone from the states just search for these movies on Amazon.ca to see our covers if you're curious)

But the biggets concern, is that why was there a delay in these releases? Could it be we're getting new version of the discs that don't have as many problems as our neighbors to the south?

I saw Crank at Starstruck Ent. at Scarborough Mall for about $32. (they also had Saw 3 for about the same price.

I am looking for Unleashed, Assault on Precinct 13 and Wolf Creek on HD in Toronto.
Any sightings ?

I picked up my first one (The Matador) from Amazon as part of the 10% off for a year promotion. That'll be my source for 2007 for Weinstein releases not available on store shelves north of the border.
