I am ashamed to say I don't think I have seen this movie. I might just have to get it as a blind buy.

Watched this tonight. Fantastic transfer -- can't say enough about how great the film looks.
The movie itself... a Hollywood epic from the time -- not the best, not the worst. An aside and off topic, but I saw a 35mm print of Lawrence of Arabia last week. Fantastic to see it in the cinema... but if Sony went out and announced that title tomorrow I'd certainly be inclined to drop the money on a Blu-ray player rather than wait for a deal to pick one up. (which is my current state of mind on that subject) Assuming, of course, they did a proper transfer and didn't muck it up as Universal did to Spartacus. |

Saw this one for the first time ever last week, and it really was great. Fun movie, great PQ. Very nicely done. I'm actually considering purchasing this one.
I still can't believe they made such great PQ out of such a long movie! Simular to Grand Prix. -John |
