Default 'Knocked Up' - High-Def Digest review

Just posted Peter's review of 'Knocked Up.' Overall, he says this one's quite strong. Although he says neither the video nor the audio are exceptional, both are above average, and he thoroughly enjoyed the disc's nice set of extras.

Hmm, I'm taking this review with a huge grain of salt, in regards to the extras. Considering every other review I've read, for both the HD and DVD, have given the extras at least a 9/10, I find it hard to swallow the rating this reviewer gave them. That, and the fact that The 40-Year-Old Virgin DVD and HD had a brilliant set of extras leave me skeptical.

I'm just disappointed to see a 3.5 star video rating. I was hoping for a 5.

My wife and I were pretty interested in this movie even though I lean Blu but I don't buy combos and I would have liked to have a lossless track.

O well.... rent it from LIVE or ON Demand.

I really think this needed to be a two disc set, the whole idea of these combo releases is that J6P will pay a little more to future proof their purchase but why spend more money for less content than the two disc DVD? In a perfect world, I'd have liked some HD featurettes on the second disc but even if they just put the second DVD bundled in it would have been an improvement.

You can get it from FYE for $20. I'd post a link but I can't since I have less than 10 posts.

Default Reasons for neutral...

I have to say that it will be impossible for me to be HD DVD exclusive. I know that it messes up the balance and war this and war that. It is just that I have also read that "Superbad" will be out on Blu Ray. To me "40 year old virgin", "Knocked Up", and "Superbad" are 3 movies that have to be all had to make me happy. Think about it. It covers all most age ranges; from teens to mature adults. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a golden years comedy up thier sleeves. I will be first in line to buy "Knocked Up" and who knows what the holiday season will bring.
