'Next' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'Next' is up. While he didn't love the film itself, he says this HD DVD release delivers on the bottom line with above-average audio and video, and a slim (but spiffy-looking) supplements package that matches the DVD bulletpoint-for-bulletpoint.

As promised, Paramount, starting with the film, Next, will deliver TrueHD encodes on there HD-DVD releases. I dont know whats up with Transformers, but I hope they keep there word.

The Ending tries to be kind of a mindfuck - I thought it was just dump. But hey, there are even people out there who think it is a good ending. (I know at least one) ... if you don't expect to much its a good one timer, but nothing more.

i was putting off watching this because I wanted to get the HD DVD but I caved and boy am I glad I saved my money. probably the most dissapointing ending to a promising movie in YEARS.

Cage hasn't had a hit since Ghost Rider.. and before that it had been quite sometime..

Seems like it takes him 3 years to get a hit over 60 million..

Its too bad that Ghost Rider ended up being a horrendous film though IMO.

Also, even if Ghost Rider did make $115 million I don't think breaking the $100 million mark really constitutes being a "hit" now days. With movies like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Spiderman, and Pirates of the Caribbean demolishing the $300 million mark...100 million is chump change now. You also have to consider that it is at least $10 a ticket at most theaters now...so I would have to think that Ghost Rider probably didn't make as much as the studios would have hoped.

As far as Next goes...I think I'll pass. It looks like it could be OK but there are too many better movies coming out in the next few weeks. "Knocked Up" and "Last Starfighter" need to be purchased before this

Ghost Rider was horrible! Probably one of the worst films of the year!
Even though my friend paid for the ticket, I wanted my time back! What a waste!
