Default 'Nip/Tuck - Fourth Season' - High-Def Digest review

Kenneth's review of 'Nip/Tuck: The Complete Fourth Season' is up. He says this HD DVD is a clear improvement over its standard-def counterpart, boasting a great video transfer and an above-average audio track.

I have to say that Mr. Brown and the other reviewers are very very good writers. I like the way they all use a diverse vocabulary in their reviews. It makes reading them a lot more interesting and enjoyable. Thanks to you Mr. Brown and the other reviewers!!

I love how Kenneth neglects the fact that Nip Tuck, Rescue Me, and all the other "high profile shows' have a lower rating than Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia. For some reason IASIP doesn't get the blu ray treatment, even though it has much better ratings, produced for A TON LESS, but doesn't get high def treatment.

I never liked nip tuck, surprised it got a "worth a look". I watched a few of the earlier episodes, never caught on

Thank you for the review... I hope the earlier seasons are released (I think the fourth season is my least favorite).

IASIP is my favorite show on television. I'm honestly surprised it even got a DVD release... I didn't realize it had better ratings. Here's to hoping it gets the high def treatment.

Yup. It always has better ratings than Nip Tuck or Rescue Me for the majority of its two year run, now its in its third year.

I believe the first season was made for a few thousand, It drew nearly a 2.0 each week in the ratings (compared to the less than 1.4 nip tuck pulled in the same time frame, a 1.7 for rescue me).

Look at the production budgets also..

Sunny gets made for very little, both seasons combined for their budget wouldn't amount to as much as an episode of niptuck costs. Or rescue me.

IASIP had barely any stars (kaitlin olsen had a brief stint on the drew carey show's final years), and was the only new show that year to be picked up, the other show, Starved, lasted only one season (and it wasn't a bad show, it was actually damn good). IASIP also suffered three times being moved around the networks schedule, yet still had the best ratings for the FX channel.

I don't think it'll be seeing a hi def release though anytime soon, even with its great rating and low budget.. FX is a very odd network.. Rescue Me's ratings have been pretty low compared to last year.. Nip Tuck's werent much better either.

IASIP is a great show, I recommend it to anyone..

I just dont get why Nip Tuck gets the hidef treatment and IASIP doesn't.. its a shame

Dont expect Nip Tuck to continue on much longer.. Rosie was approached about a spin off show, no word on if she accepted, but Nip Tuck and Rescue Me's popularity has dwindled from previous seasons. Expect IASIP to earn the networks highest debut ratings for a new season on the 13th when it returns.. Heavily publicized and all.

That's all.

It's very simple. Nip/Tuck is owned by Warner Bros., who release on both HD DVD and Blu-ray and are starting an aggressive push for TV content on both formats.

It's Always Sunny is owned by Fox, who are only now slowly getting back into Blu-ray, and have not yet made any push to bring TV content to the format.

You assume that because the two shows air on the same network that they must be owned by the same production studio. That's not the case.

Rescue Me also airs on F/X, but is owned by Sony, who chose to release it on Blu-ray.
