Default 'Disturbia' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'Disturbia' is up. He says this HD DVD release is solid but not exemplary -- the video transfer is fine, the audio is better, and the supplements may be strong in number (and in technical quality), but they're superficial to the point of vapidity.

I loved this film and thought it was really well done. It was just a fun film from start to finish with very entertaining characters. With all of the garbage horror that comes out it refreshing to see films like this and Wientsitens 1408 that concentrate more on the characters than gore and violence.

I hadn't actually been planning to see this but the review got me interested. I look Hitchcockian twists and the review seems to think this one executed on that well. So I am considering it...

This is one of the US titles I'm planning to get in August, along with Bell Witch: The Movie, Dawn of the Dead (2004) and Heroes: Season One.

Looks like it's going to be a "horror-rich" month - I'm also planning to get Hannibal (French import, supposed to be released 8/1) and possibly Hannibal Rising (Polish import 8/23).

I would like to see the original hitchcock film be in HD...the one with James stewart in it where's his character has a broken leg and watches everthing from his apartment window...yeah that one, I can't think of the title though.

Yeah, I hope that they will eventually release all the Hitchcock movies, such as "Rear Window".

I really wanted to see this flick-- I'm a huge hitchcock fan, and rear window has always been my personal favorite (well maybe tied with NxNW), and even hearing how speilberg had such a deliberate and ever-present hand in the making of it, makes it seem all the more worthwhile. Glad to see its coming to hd, and can't wait to check it out for myself.

I watched the HD-DVD of this today and enjoyed it. Thought it was an OK update of Hitchcock's original. A trifle silly and cliched in places, but fun nevertheless and the cast are very good. The film hasn't even been released in the UK yet (saw a trailer for it in the cinema last week but no date was given for release) so HD-DVDs like this are all good.

I also watched "Breach" today and that doesn't get a theatrical release here until 31st August.

I'm beginning to see why the Blu-Ray camp don't want to go region free!
