Default 'Out for Justice' - High-Def Digest review

Just posted Kenneth's review of 'Out for Justice' on HD DVD. A fan of the film when he was in his teens, he says watching it again now as an adult was a painful experience. Unfortunately, a below average video transfer, a basic audio package, and a lack of supplemental features didn't help.

Releasing crappy transfers like this is going to be a nail in the coffin for HDDVD.
Surely there are better films from that era, with better picture quality.

Uh, this is Warner, they are releasing the same on both Blu-ray and HD DVD and it will likely look the same on both. WB has had an excellent track record on both platforms so I think we can excuse them one dud...

These kinds of films from the 80's were so cheaply made, it's no wonder that the video transfer isn't very good. I have this on sd dvd and it's really bad quality.

I would like to see some of the Universal Van Damme flicks, some of them should turn out quite good as they had big budgets like Hard Target, Timecop, and Sudden Death. Warner Brothers should also think about remastering Bloodsport for HD sometime.

Hard Target maybe, but Timecop and Sudden Death were both directed by Peter Hyams, who works as his own DP and likes his movie to be dark, dim, and grainy. His End of Days is available on HD DVD now and it looks pretty mediocre, as expected.

Not a big Seagal fan at all. I did like Executive Decision though, but he wasn't in that long. Would love to have that on HD DVD!

You might want to put that in spoilers for those who haven't seen it.

My bad. I just assumed most people would have seen a flick from 11 years ago.

You know what assume means? Makes an ASS out of ME!

I thought Warner had some type of deal where they released on HDDVD first.
I was obviously wrong about that
