Default 'Streets of Fire' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'Streets of Fire' is up. He says this HD DVD edition of the helplessly cheesy '80s flick boasts a nice enough transfer and good Dolby Digital-Plus audio, but its deficiencies left him longing for a true special edition.

I've never even heard of this movie but I'll add it to my Netflix or Blockbuster Que. Probably Blockbuster since I can return it to the store for a free Blu-Ray movie right after I get done watching it.

Peter should correct something on his review.
Not a biggie, but I am really obssesed with 1984 and he mentions 1985 twice. This movie was released on 1 June 1984.

Nice review.

I will get my movie sometime next week.
PQ 4 according to this review. Universal is sometimes doing it quite well. Too bad that some of the people that have been critizicing their PQ are not going to recognize that for a 23 year old movie , this time a 4 is quite good.

I have mine in the post, can't wait. I've never actually seen it but am a (closet) fan of Walter Hill's other movies so I should enjoy it.

(I'm also a closet fan of Mark L. Lester, sad I know )

Great movie this... great soundtrack, great action pieces, great style and pizzazz, great visuals, and apparently a great picture and sound on the HD-DVD. A winner!

And Willem Dafoe as a evil kick ass villian

Oh... and a sooo hot it hurts leather clad Diane Lane !

She is such a babe in "STREETS" !

This movie and "The Bourne Identity" are must buy for me. I don't buy many HD DVDs anymore, but I was waiting for this two movie to be released.

TWO GREAT FILMS on two great HD-DVD's. Shame about the lack of extras on "STREETS OF FIRE" but it is a Walter Hill film so I'm not surprised.

I really am starting to think the reviews should have NO comments on the Movie itself. Peter Dislikes A LOT of movies that I like (for the movie itself).
I think it would make more sense for Peter to just give a movie what ever rating it get's from IMDB.
And I think somebody may want to suggest that to the Mods in the "feedback" forum.

It's a review! Of course he should review the film and comment on it. You can easily skip the review and just read on from the the PQ section. This is something I do regularly when I've already seen the movie and just want to know the disc quality, but then some movies I would also want to know someone else's opinion.

BTW I find Peter's reviews to be pretty spot on most of the time.

Just watching the first 15 minutes this thing sucks so far. Not sure I want to watch the remainder.
