Possible Birthrite release on HD-DVD
Below is the email that I sent Mark Maness and the response I received....
Hi Mark, I don't know if you remember me or not. I am the guy who spent
about a year emailing you and asking if you had any copies of Birthrite
on Hd-dvd left back in 2010 and you sold me your very last copy which I
still have and will never sell =). I am a member on the High-def Digest
forums and I am writing to you to let you know that although the HD-DVD
format is officially dead there is still a huge following and we have
managed to get Some other indie directors to re-release some of there
work on Hd-dvd for us and even release their some of there movies on
Hd-dvd that never were. Two of the biggest contributors so far are Gary
Ugarek who has so far done (Deadlands 1,2 and working on 3) for us and
B. Luciano Barsuglia who has done for us (Zombie Farm ,Aaron's House, &
Dementia) Both have promised to release more of their movies on limited
basis as long as there is enough interest. I am wondering if you would
have any interest in re-releasing Birthrite on Hd-dvd for us as maybe a
limited run , signed by you edition? Even if we couldn't get you to sign
them,we would still be honored just to have you and the movie included
in our group. Please let me know at your earliest convenience.
Also... We have access to the media needed as well as the burning
facilities if need be.
thank you for your time,
Mark's reply
Rob,
Thanks for advice. I'm definitely interested. I have a relationship with a duplicator that we use in my "Day Job". I'll contact them and see what their capabilities are. Please stay in touch! I'll let you know how this progresses!
I may do a 'signed' copy by myself and the entire cast!
Thanks again for your awesome suggestions! BTW, I am the proud owner of a Toshiba HD-DVD player myself!
-Warmest regards,
-Mark

@cuz8190: duuuude, this is great news! Thanks so much for pasting the email you wrote as well as Mark's reply. I'm definitely buying a copy if/when it is released. Please keep us posted, Rob, I really appreciate you getting in touch with him :-) Also, don't forget Gary also released in late 2011/early 2012 "All in the Game" :-)

Just want to let you know: This is what I got today:
"Thanks for your e-mail and your interest. We're definitely looking into re-releasing this film in the HD-DVD format. I'll write you when we make the final decision. And rest assured, if we do release, it will be for a REASONABLE price, and not trying to price gouge like so many others are doing.
Thanks again,
-mark maness"
That sounds fantastic, doesn't it ? -

@ logodaddy:
I was thinking since you pulled a rabbit in the shape of an HD Sampler out of your nice bit black hat for @Blerim that it's possible this will come to light as well :-D
let's keep our fingers crossed!
