Default 'Shooter' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'Shooter' is up. As an HD DVD release, he says this one's quite strong: the video transfer earns four stars, the solid but unspectacular audio edges out its Blu-ray counterpart, and the insightful supplements package is well presented in 1080p video.

And the better codec. I mean come on, why are people still using the ancient MPEG-2 for HD imagery? That alone is enough reason for me not to buy a movie.

One error I noticed in the review is that they stated that Shooter is coming out day-and-date with the dvd release and that is not true.

The dvd has been available for a while now, I believe it came out June 26th.
Just wanted to point that out....

anyway....cant wait to get this...this is a blind buy for me.

Question price

Is it worth the price? $28 seems like an awful lot to me.

I really liked the film. Like Really.

If there are any HDs worth that price, this is definitely one of them.

Pretty standard for Paramount. Works out to $25.15 on my pre-order on Amazon, with the 10% high def discount promo carried over from last year.

And yeah, they need to fix the "day and date" with DVD comment - the DVD came out June 26.

I am planning to blind buy this one. It sounds like it should be worth it...

Rented the DVD and it was better than I expected.

I was hoping for a close to Reference HD DVD, like 4.5's especially in the Audio. I'll have to think about this one or check out other reviews.

i rented the sd version and i thought the movie was just ok...the action sequences were fun to watch but one thing that i noticed was that the dialogue was very hard to follow (so i barely understood the plot besides the basic "shoot up the bad guys story")...for u people blind buying this, my advice is to make sure that u watch the movie the first time with subtitles on

hopefully you'll enjoy it more than i did

No its not. Paramount releases are all mostly non-combos. The only one I know of is the Star Trek series coming out.
