I was pleasantly surprised that Uncommon Bach besides fantastic audio had great visuals and just find out that "The Way to Paradise" will feature multimedia surrealistic 3D artworks to accompany original 7.1 electronic music compositions by Alexander Jero.

I just received the Jazz Standards HD DVD. Obviously I was very mistaken regarding expectations for this release. I hoped for quality recordings of classic tunes. Instead I got sonic clarity in Master Audio of what I perceive as ridicolous sounding MID files. I heard three numbers just enough to convince me, that this is going straight back on the shelf. I would never sell it to my worst enemy!

You might find that throwing 20$ out your window, is a more rewarding experience!

I found previous post is very weird,
Just got it last week.
IT IS SOUND GREAT!
The Disc plays instrumentals of jazz classics in DTS HD surround audio along with High Def photos of locations around the world.
I would recommend this to jazz lovers and HD audio enthusiasts as well as people that like high def photos of different cities around the world.

Well I found the instrumentals sounding MIDI file like. Obviously I was mistaken that this should be Jazz the good ol' jazz way. When I read New transcript for virtual instruments and modern synthesis in 3-Dimensional Sound Reality , a warning bell should've rung.

To my ears this is MIDI sound and they could mix it lossless in 100 channels with 10 subwoofers and call it the best in sensational 3D arrangements. It would still, to me, be completely artificial and without any charm at all.

I'd rather wait for an HD release of Sinatra At The Sands with Count Basies Orchestra.

I dont think that is relevant, where is no point for this kind of record to be in HD the original audio was not recorded in high definition back then. I have this great concert on CD but presume that it would be even better on vinyl the media it ment to be back in 60s.

Today is the hole new era of sound and perseption of music and this presentation of our favorite jazz standards in High Definition makes a great sense to me.
