Default 'The Big Lebowski' -- High-Def Digest review

Just posted Kenneth's review of 'The Big Lebowski.' A long-time fan of the film, he says this HD DVD release is quite strong, turning in an above average audio mix and a great video transfer that's been noticeably enhanced by the move to high-def.

This is a movie that MUST be seen at least twice. The first time you have no idea whats happening but are having fun. The second time around, once all the pieces have fallen into place mentally, you notice the true genius of this film. The subtle gags with the music and dialogue, the setup of the story, the thought process of the characters... it all works together wonderfully the second time around. Make sure to keep an open mind, but one of the most rewatchable (and quoteable) films of all time.

Is this movie really worth the price of an HD DVD? I have never seen the whole thing, only bits and pieces on TV and it looked pretty good. I don't usually buy comedies or anything on HD because I don't see a point. Unless there is some action or something I wouldn't really want it on HD. Should I just get it on SD for cheap or is it a must have on HD?

One of my all-time favourite movies. *SO* looking forward to the HD-DVD.

It has a very strong cult following. There's even a Lebowski festival just to honor the movie. It is funny. So if you like comedies, it's a must buy. As far as should you buy it on HD DVD, It just depends on how much you like high def DUDE! As for me, buying SD DVDs is like buying VHS, I don't do it.

I've seen this move at least 10 times and it never gets old. It is just one of those few movies that should be in everyones library.

If you have not watched it you are missing out. If you have watched it watch it again it just keeps getting funnier and funnier.

I would dare say that it is the best work Bridges and Goodman have done to date.

Hey man, that's a lot of LaserDisc. How do those things sound? One more ? When you were buying those, how much were they at the time?
