Default 'For the Love of the Game' -- pre-release buzz

Universal has announced two new titles for HD DVD release on September 18:

http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/fortheloveofthegame.html

Both 'Last Starfighter' and 'For the Love of the Game' will include Dolby TrueHD tracks, and all the same extras as the standard-def DVD versions.

I've never seen this movie, but I always found it interesting how the title is almost always written incorrectly.

The correct name of this movie is "For Love of the Game" (note there is no 'THE' after 'FOR')

The title is what is written on a baseball in the movie. it's why there is no "the" in the title. have to see it to understand.
The movie itself is half about a baseball game and half about a romance
I liked it and have watched the standard dvd a few times

I never bought this movie in Standard Def because of the stupid extras and no Sam Raimi commentary. Even though I truly love this movie. It combines two of my favourite things; Beautiful Women and Baseball. I held out because I was sure Raimi wouldn't let this movie languish without the eventual "Special Edition" after all, he can't work on the "Spider-Man" franchise forever can he?

"Simple Plan" and "The Gift" I could go with the "plain jane" versions, but I wanted something special for this movie! Now we have an HD release of the aforementioned "plain jane" SD release which is still missing the all important commentary.

Listen up Universal... If I wanted a crappy "plain jane" version of this movie it would already be sitting on my shelf and this new version doesn't offer any reason to upgrade. Wise up guys!

This was a great film. An easter egg is in the film. When you complete the trivia game, an old B&W short starring Babe Ruth plays "Slide, Babe, Slide".
