Thumbs up 'Ant Bully' -- High-Def Digest review

Another animated title hits HD DVD:

Not a great movie, and a bit preachy, but fun. Nice disc, too. Solid transfer, soundtrack and extras. Worth a rent at least.

Yeah, it is as it is. Not a bad movie but not a great one either. It did light up my 1080P JVC though.

I was taking a look at my copy of The Ant Bully today, and I COULD be wrong, but I think this is actually a single layer HD DVD and not a dual layer as the review specifies. I also took a look at the TMNT HD DVD combo release, and I think the HD DVD side is a single layer as well. I just thought it was interesting that a great 1080p transfer, lossless audio, and extras could fit on a single layer disc so nicely.

This past weekend I decided to show a viewing of Ant Bully on HD DVD to my many guests. It was a great surprise to many that either had not seen the movie or where not aware of its existence. Anyway its a decent movie with a great video transfer. Ant Bully is a colorful movie that helps display the best of your highdef setup. Decent movie, great video, and lots of extras make this an easy pick.

Agreed! The kids love this movie, and ask to watch it every now and again.
