Default 'Unleashed' (re-issue) - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of Universal's non-combo re-issue of 'Unleashed' is up, and while combo-haters will be happy to see the edition lose the DVD flipside, unfortunately the supplements went with it.

I can count myself among the combo haters. It seems kind of pointless to keep this on a 15 gig disk though. They should have redone it with a 30 gig. I suppose they didnt so that they didnt further point out how crappy combos are.

What an overlooked flick. The film itself was definitely an exercise in contrasts and most unique but I ended up appreciating it all the same. Little discoveries like this make me proud to be an HD DVD owner. God knows when Universal Blus it up and the quality of the sound is more than adequate. DTS-MA wouldn't solve any perceived problems with the sound design, though I'm sure the reviewer would automatically bump it up a half-star regardless if/when this hits Blu.

Didn't realize this was one of the first HD DVDs. I got the combo myself...ZERO problems here as usual. Any problems experienced by others were simply bad pressings and/or poor player tolerance, which is unfortunate because it soured so many to the flipper concept.
