Default 'Dead Silence' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'Dead Silence' is up. He says this one's a dog of a movie (he's not the only one -- it got a 20% rotten rating at Rotten Tomatoes), but as an HD DVD release, at least it's more or less technically up-to-snuff....

Well, I read his review and it may not be that good but, much like Black Christmas I found that one entertaining and I've got a thing for freaky dummy movies so this one is a no-brainer buy (and may be a no brainer film too!). Oh, well it can't be as bad as 'Devil Doll'!

I've been waiting for this one ever since it came out in theaters so I'm so ordering a copy.

even if the critics are bad, I need to see this movie.

Saw is my all time favorite horror/suspense franchise.

When do horror movies ever get good reviews from critics? Not very often.

I'll be getting this.

I am with you on this one. While I can certainly realize that this is no powerhouse film in terms of script and while I know its certainly not going to win any academy awards for quality acting, I still found this film to be extremely enjoyable as I myself have a thing for horror movies dealing with dolls. I guess its the Puppet Master series that really turned me into a doll horror freak and again while I can easily see and admit that this film s pretty shallow overall, I still enjoyed it and will without a doubt be buying this one myself.

Some horror films get good reviews. Not many, cuz most are just cheap cash-ins. But the highest rated horror movie of 2006 was The Descent and that was probably one of the scariest movies I'd seen (and I'm a horror buff) in the past 5 years. Excellent acting, pacing, and mood. They didn't even need to add the monsters and it was still super tense/scary. Shame its only on blu-ray.

Was really looking forward to 1408 for quite awhie now and I saw it yesterday. I have to say it has one of the best opening 30 minutes that I have seen in a horror movie. The build up to him actually going inside the room is really masterfully done and your legitimately freaked out for him to go inside and dying to know what happens when he does. Unfortunatly the pay off isnt nearly as good and once he enters the room and things start to happen, the film loses alot of the quality and tension that it had before he did enter the room.

Still a pretty good flick overall and one ill probably buy when it comes out. I am actually really looking forward to Disturbia when that comes out as well.

I didnt think The Descent was scary AT ALL. It wasnt a bad movie, but I really think that even The Grudge 2 was scarier, and I hate that movie.

Soon on HD DVD

SAW I-III” in the spring 2008 on HD-DVD

"Cinema world plans the publication of “SAW I-III” for the spring 2008 on Blu ray Disc and HD DVD. The offerer on request could not call an exact period for the publication yet. Likewise also still no details are well-known.

In the USA the horror series is driven out by Lionsgate. The independent offerer however exclusively sets on Blu ray the Disc, why the films are available so far only on Blu ray Disc and not on HD DVD there."
