Default Flyboys? title worth getting?

What's the general consensus on this import? Does it kick ass visually, or audio wise or both? Or does it suck story wise?
thanks

I can't comment on the import, but this was one of the first Blu-ray titles I bought when I went purple. (And the picture quality on the BD is fantastic.) I very nearly bought the import HD DVD back in the day, but it always felt like more than I wanted to spend. There's absolutely nothing original or surprising about the story, but it's a film with a lot of heart, and that's a rare thing. The filmmakers clearly felt strongly about the subject and it feels like it was made with a lot of care. It's not ironic and nobody feels the need to be wacky. I kept thinking that it was very much like a throwback to the old Hollywood studio pictures, and I liked that about it. I'm personally not a huge fan of James Franco, and your reaction might depend a lot on how you feel about him, but overall, he was fine in this. I think it's an underrated flick, and I can say that I've watched it many more times than I would have expected.

It has DTS HD MA if I remember right. PQ is very good. Possibly great.

I enjoyed it, but it is nothing new story wise, if I didn't have already I'd definitively buy it.

Thats why I am asking; it has been on Ebay lately for reasonable prices. I guess if I was smart I would rent the DVD and get a good idea right there. Thanks

The PQ/AQ is great, but I didn't really like the story.

I second that.... Story and acting are mediocre.

I really wanted to like this movie because I am a fan of war movies, especially WWI&II flicks.
