Does anyone have any idea on pricing on these titles? And any idea on which of the non-English HD DVDs (i.e. the "native" Russian films) have English subtitles or audio options? And across the board, do these titles have much, if anything in the way of bonus features? Also, is there a complete list of exclusive Russian titles? It's about 7 or 8 discs, right?

there are no English subs on any of the Russian language releases I don't believe.
as far as a comprehensive list--no-one can be absolutely sure at present,
but it looks to be 6 or 7 titles.

From what I was told they are about the equivilant of $60 USD thats in Russia, the only place to get them. I thought he said they had English 2.0 audio. I think the titles Tormond listed were all of them. If anyone outside of Russia had them... It would be Tormond, Bruceames or Satblaster

Well he told me they didn't have them in any local shops..
I found this discription for Vedma (The Power of Fear)
Quote:
A theology student is forced to read scripture for a young woman who has died. What he doesn't know is, she is the devil's emissary on earth. Over the three nights of his mission, Thomas is tempted and tormented by all the minions of hell as the young man's faith and courage are tested in a trial by fire.
I guess Vedma = Witch.
Didn't Tony from xploited try to get them? This is who has the rights or distribution to Vedma http://www.lizardcinema.ru/
If they aren't available in shops in Moscow whats the odds anyone outside or Russia will see a copy? Shipping something from Russia sounds like a complicted risky ordeal.. He said they have UPS. I asked what about the post office and he said NOWAY. He said mail sits in Moscow for weeks before anything gets done with it. I'm thinking if there are even any copies left you are going to need a mob connection to get them from there to here. Either that or pay Lizard Cinema Trading some astronomical amount of money for the rights. Has anyone asked Tony lately? If anyone would know how to get them it would probally be him.

None of the shops may have them but ozon.ru (located in Moscow) does (or says they do) and there is one other russian site that lists them as available as well but I need my laptop out of the car (which it is 10 degrees and 1AM so tomorrow maybe) to get that site.

BTW the "They will be mine...Oh Yes they will be mine" is a spoof off of the Waynes World part where he talks about getting the (I think) white Fender Guitar where he starts playing stairway to heaven and is instructed "No Stairway" by the sales staff

BTW if it is possible to get these and have folks willing to help out I am not trying to hide out on anything. I am not (and will not) try to make a buck off something that is just hard to get. I make $1 a disc on anything I sell from a group buy (or lose money on some occasions) to pay for my time and the stuff I purchase to ship items. Mostly I look at it as I do the group uy and get it all organized and deal with the headaches and I get a movie or two for free that I need. I don't think that is unreasonable.

Trey, you're amazing. If anyone thinks you're unreasonable send them to me and I'll straighten them out. You and Christopher have done amazing things for this forum. I've tried to do my part but honestly I can't front that much money anymore. I hope anyone buying from you has as much confidence in you as I do

Mmm I don't think people realize that these are near impossible to get... Its not going to be like ordering from amazon germany. It would be more like smuggling contraband. From what I see you have a better chance of getting a Kalashnikov outta Russia than these HD DVDs. Please someone prove me wrong.

I guess Vedma = Witch.

First of all: no blow offs! I Have A Life To Live.
Secondly: No sign of discs except for OZON.ru
Third: I heard that sending copyrigthed video discs from Russia is a violation of LAW.
Fourth: Vedma = Witch. You're right.

Yes. 2.0 English.
The only 5.1 English, I believe, was on War HD DVD.

Thanks Jester

I have a tough time believing that you can't send a few discs to whomever as long as you aren't trying to make a big export business out of it. That being said I have NO idea on the legalities of sending the discs and have no desire to see you or anyone else have legal troubles over a movie on a plastic disc. If you are willing to help us please feel free to PM me on whatever you would like to attempt and I am sure we can work out an arrangement. I would think that sending the 4 or 5 of us that actually care about getting the discs we could make it agreeable to all sides. I will be happy to see what I can find out about the import/export legalities but when we spoke to Tony at Exploited he seemed to think that it was possible to get them, just expensive (at the time HD DVD was still an "alive" format) and would take time to get them here which he didn't think was worth it for what his end cost would be to us for the few discs that he thought he would sell (lets face it.. when we have to ask what a movie is (ie the Power of Fear) chances are there aren't a lot of folks that are willing to pay $60 for it..and it appears to have English audio) and then on top of that put it on a format that is only playable by maybe 750K worldwide people and you see the issue If you don't wish to risk it I understand completely. If you would like to help and wish for me to check on the ramifications of exporting 30 or 40 discs to us feel free to ask and I will do my best to find out for you.

After seeing the pics posted by Junglalien I really want these HD-DVD's now!! If Tormond or anybody else finds a way to get them.....................count me in. I'm willing to pay the bucks to get these. Illegal to send to the United States?? I doubt this, because somebody here said that Russia uses UPS to ship parcels. UPS is a worldwide service and if Russia uses it, then we can get it.
